I just received my Mini Bolga Basket all the way from California with the speed of light (thank you Gracie!!!) and wanted to share few pics here on my blog. It’s my new favorite carry-on basket around the house 🙂
Bolga baskets are handmade by local weavers in Bolgatanga, Ghana. I bought this basket through one of my IG friends, Gracie. She is Mama to an adorable 1 year old babyboy, Maverick Moon and owner of Beet Heart Organics. Gracie sells ‘Earth Friendly Organic Clothing for Little Ones & Fair Trade Certified Goods’ like these African Market Baskets (aka Bolga baskets).
The baskets are made of elephant grass and need reshaping after shipping. The basket also had a unique, natural odour that was gone by the next day. As the elephant grass gets soft when wet, reshaping was the easiest thing to do and can be done as many times as it’s needed. The handle is very sturdy and I know that this basket will last for long. I picked a red one as that’s my son’s favorite colour 🙂
